Singapore, 9 December 2014 — Just one weekend ago, the five members of the much-loved “Running Man” team arrived in Singapore for the last stop in their “Race Start Season 2” fanmeet tour.

We had the honour of meeting the members (Ji Sukjin, Kim Jongkook, Ha Donghoon [Haha], Song Jihyo and Lee Kwangsoo) first through the press conference. Here’s what they had to say:

1. Their impression of Singapore and what they look forward to

JSJ: Last year when we came, I remember eating a lot of good food, especially chilli crab and pepper crab. I’m not sure if we’ll be able to have it again this time but I’ll be looking forward.

HH: Yes, the food here in Singapore is great but I must also add that Singapore is a beautiful country. I’m very happy to be here again. On the way to our hotel from the airport, I must say that the scenery is beautiful and the streets are really clean.

KJK: Singapore is a very beautiful city. There are a lot of trees and it’s very beautiful. The streets are also very clean and the people are all very nice. And the weather’s perfect.

LKS: Something I remember about Singapore is the enthusiastic fans that I’ve met. From the airport to the show (fan meeting) I’ve previously had, everyone is always so full of love and support. Thank you so much for it. And also, the hotel staff are also very kind, so I also want to thank them.

SJH: They’ve said everything I’ve to say. The country is beautiful and the food is great. Because I arrived a day earlier, I had some time to explore and sightsee and I really had a great time. There were many things to see and it was really exciting. The people here are really beautiful as well. I went to the aquarium yesterday and it was also exciting.

LKS: I also went to Universal Studios Singapore and on the Transformer ride. It was really, really fun and I hope to go back again.

2. On “Running Man” still being the top program (across all channels) in Singapore

JSK: Oh, really? Thank you.

HH: Thank you. Thank you so much.

The others also chorus their thank-yous.

3. How they feel about being a part of the Running Man team

KJK: I’m really honoured to be a part of this show, especially since many people love this show. I’m really happy. We all really have a great responsibility and we’re always working very hard to bring the best to everyone.

JSJ: You know, we do talk about this privately (outside the show) and we’re all really honoured and feel really lucky to have such support and love from everyone. So, I thank everyone for that.

4. What can we expect from the Race Start Season 2 fanmeet in Singapore?

SJH: We’ve been to many countries for Race Start Season 2 and Singapore will be our last stop of the fanmeet tour. We’ve been trying to showcase as many things as possible and I’m sure that everyone is ready to give their all for this time’s show as well. So we hope that everyone will have a memorable time tomorrow (at the fanmeet).

5. About Kwangsoo winning the Best Popularity Award for his role in “It’s Okay, It’s Love” - do the members see him in a different light and do they treat him better?

LKS: Why me… Why? Why? (Member of the media stated that this question is for all members except for Kwangsoo)

KJK: He’s very cocky now, he knows he’s a superstar now.

HH: You know, we can’t really eat at the same table now.

JSJ: He used to bow very often but now, maybe not so much.

HH: Also his team of staff has probably increased to fifteen. Five for hair, five for make-up, five as his stylists.

JSJ: Of course, it’s all a joke. We’re just kidding.

KJK: Yes, it’s just a joke. We’ve never seen someone this humble before. He didn’t change.

HH: He’s very real.

LKS: Thank you.

6. On how it was like participating in the China version of “Running Man”

HH: Jongkook-hyung really is the king in China.

KJK: Well, it was really awkward in the beginning but we got comfortable afterwards. We love the China team and we wanted to show them how to do “Running Man”. We had a really great time. We won, in the episode against the China’s “Running Man” team, and we’re really happy. It’s kind of childish but I’m happy that we won.

7. On their favourite and most memorable episode of all “Running Man” episodes

HH: I’m going to say something cliche, that every episode is special but I must also say that the first episode is the most memorable. It was a big step for us, for everybody. And I remember it felt like we were filming non-stop for thirty hours straight. That’s how we felt back then and it brings back a lot of memories. If I were to go back to that particular episode, I hope that everyone will be better. It was the most memorable episode and I hope that everyone else feels the same way as well.

LKS: My most memorable moment would be when we went to Vietnam and when Jongkook-hyung first gave me the nickname “Asian Prince”. It was because of the enthusiastic fans who were cheering very loudly for me. It was from that time that I started having this nickname so I’ll always remember this moment.

SJH: Every episode is special to me. It’s about all the time we spent together, from first meeting each other to planning things out. We worked hard and put in effort together to create something (the show). The times that we cried, the times that we laughed, I think that’s something that’ll be very special to all of us. But if I must choose, I’d choose episodes that featured only the “Running Man” members. Those are probably the special times that we can really bond and come together as a team.

KJK: We’ve been doing this show for almost four years, so we’ve done many, many episodes. I don’t know, I can’t really choose. But I liked it when sports stars come on the program.

JSJ: There’s one episode that I’m really thankful for and that’s the episode that Jackie Chan appeared on. It’s probably because he’s everyone’s idol from a long time ago (since we were young). It may have been a mere three hours but he really fit in very well with us and had so much fun with us. I really give it up to him and really appreciate the time he has spent with us.

8. On what they think about scary missions (e.g. the recent roller-coaster mission)

JSJ: Remember the episode we did in Macau? Many of us tried bungee-jumping but I couldn’t do it. To be honest, the Taiwanese roller-coaster was the scariest thing I’ve ever tried in my life. It was really terrifying and I don’t ever want to do that again.

HH: Roller-coasters and bungee-jumping are scary but what’s even scarier than is Jongkook-hyung. (LKS agrees in the background.) The tension and anxiety that you feel when you’re left alone to compete with him is the scariest. Maybe even he can defeat the roller-coaster?

We would also like to extend our thanks to ONE for extending the invitation to us. For more pictures, head over to www.facebook.com/SGKWave and follow us on Twitter at @SGKWave.
